Signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society

  On October 7, 2024, Energia Research Institute ("ERI") of the Chugoku Electric Power., Co., Inc. signed the MoU on collaboration with Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research ("TNO") for the purpose of developing and promoting energy and environmental technologies towards the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

  ERI conducts R&D and new service development to solve social issues such as decarbonisation of customers and local communities as well as the fundamental electric power technologies. ERI are working on the effective use of renewable energy and the development of technologies related to carbon recycling in the research field aiming at realizing a carbon-neutral society.

  TNO is one of the prestigious neutral applied R&D institutions in Europe established by the Dutch parliament and its wide-ranging research activities have been highly praised internationally. TNO has also been actively supporting the launch of new businesses and the creation of new products and services based on the cutting-edge research results.

  In future, TNO and ERI will engage in technological exchanges, mutual visitations and exchanging information in the fields of renewable energy, energy management, smart agricultural technology^※ and furthermore, aim to contribute to a carbon-neutral society to be realized by 2050 through the collaboration taken advantage of each respective strengths in R&D.
